How Your Diet Is Slowly Killing You!
How was Christmas? If you are like me, it's cool to spend some time with family that you really don't see but just a few times a year. Most of them at least haha
Let me tell you, being a fitness professional, I get hit up quite often at family get-togethers with questions like "Is it okay to eat this?" "What about ________?" All the typical questions you can probably imagine.
And I see so many people, family, friends in very poor health. It's sad to me.
One thing I have been studying this past year that goes beyond weight loss though, is nutrition and it's relationship to many common health "issues" we are seeing in America.
- Constipation or Diarrhea (which is worse??)
- Canker Sores
- Difficulty Concentrating
- Excess Weight
- Difficulty Losing Weight
- Fluid Retention
- Food Cravings
- Joint Pain
- Muscle Aches
- Sinus Congestion
- Skin Rashes
- Sleep Problems
Or more serious concerns like:
- Autoimmune Diseases
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Food Allergies
- Heart Disease
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's;ulcerative colitis)
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Meonpausal Symptoms (mood swings, poor sleep, hot flashes)
- Menstrual Problems (PMS, heavy bleeding, cramps)
- Migraine Headaches
Quite a list right?
Basically after feeding our body the toxic foods that is so common to our American culture, it becomes important at some point to cleanse our system and decrease the inflammation and stress that we've put our body under.
Also, it's important to note that we take in toxins not just in the foods we eat, but we BREATHE them in through polution, we RUB them in through health products we put on our skin that have some pretty harsh chemicals and additives.
The good news is that through detoxification, we can offset the toxic damage through some good nutrition.
